Applications – Parallel Entry Students

EIT Digital Double DegreeLocal Recruitment at POLIMI for 2021/22

If you missed the main round of application, here is the last chance to start the EIT Digital Master School in 2021/22: join as a Parallel Entry Student for the first year at Polimi. Then you will be invited to apply directly for second-year admission to an EIT Digital partner university (exit university) where to complete your studies and get the double degree

At the beginning of the semester, among the local students newly admitted to the master degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Polimi, we recruit for the EIT Digital double-degree programme a small number of Parallel Entry Students (aka ‘PES’) to be moved to the specific EIT Digital study plans since the beginning of the first year.

They are called “parallel” because for the entry year they are like Polimi local students, but they attend first-year courses and all the dedicated educational activities along with the class of EIT Digital students at Polimi. PES are pre-selected by us to start the first year at Polimi, then in November they will be invited to officially apply to EIT Digital for admission directly to second year at another university (exit university) where to complete the double-degree programme.

Our selected PES will also attend the general EIT Digital Kick-Off event, where they will have the opportunity to engage in a business challenge gathering all the EIT Digital students from all the other entry universities. Moreover, during the Kick-Off, they can reach out to representatives from all the partner exit universities and get more information about the technical specialisations offered in the second year. The official applications for the exit year will open for PES after the Kick-Off with results by February.

Consider starting the EIT Digital Master School as a Parallel Entry Student at Polimi!

For 2021/22, we seek PES especially for the following EIT Digital track:
Human-Computer Interaction & Design

Requirements for applying as Parallel Entry Students (PES)

  • Being successfully admitted to Politecnico di Milano to the first year of the local master’s degree course in Computer Science and Engineering

  • Enrolling at Politecnico di Milano in September (first semester intake)

How to apply as a PES at Polimi?

Express your interest

By the end of September (the sooner the better), students enrolling to the first year of Computer Science and Engineering may express interest in being considered as PES for the EIT Digital double-degree programme, by writing an email to Federico Schiepatti: federico.schiepatti@polimi.it. If you are not a local student from Polimi’s laurea triennale, please also attach a transcript of records with the exams passed during your bachelor studies

Start the first year at Polimi on the EIT Digital study track

By the end of September at the latest, the selected students will receive our confirmation on their acceptance on the local EIT Digital study track as PES, so they can start along with the other EIT Digital entry students. The Student Office will change the study track accordingly, enabling the EIT Digital study plan submission

Apply to EIT Digital for the second year at another university

During the first semester of the first year, our selected PES will be invited to apply online through the EIT Digital portal for admission to an exit university, where to move for the second year of studies after the first year at Polimi. During the application, you can express up to three preferences of exit universities. Results about final admission to the exit university are expected by February

Fees

For the first year at Polimi, PES will follow the normal student contribution that applies to all Polimi enrolled students.

Only for the second year, PES officially earn the “full status” of EIT Digital students, thus benefitting from the total exemption of the local university fees, which are entirely waived off both at Polimi and at the exit university where they enrol for the second year. University fees are replaced by the EIT Digital tuition fees (to be paid directly to EIT Digital), which are based on the citizenship:

  • for EU students: € 1.500
  • for non-EU students: € 14.000

Possible merit-based tuition fee waivers (partial or total) may be assigned by EIT Digital to top-ranked applicants to cover such participation costs, together with the second-year study offer.
